Super OxyPhyteT Antioxidant (Heart
Blend Formula)
4000 ORAC Units per Capsule (ORAC standardizes

The Antioxidant Balance
- Full Spectrum Complex
The human body utilizes a complex network of antioxidants. Scientists
believe that we need to strike a balance between the damaging effects
of free radicals and the protective effects of antioxidants. While you
can't always eat right, exercise regularly or avoid all the toxins and
pollutants you are exposed to every day, you can make a positive contribution
to the cellular war against oxidative free radical damage by consuming
a well-balanced diet and reinforcing it by comprehensive, high quality,
full spectrum antioxidant supplements.

What is ORAC?
ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity),
developed by the USDA, has become the "Gold" standard as a method
of measuring antioxidant capacity in dietary supplements. Single
servings of fresh fruits and vegetables supply an average of 600-800
ORAC units. Scientists believe that increasing intake of foods that
provide 2000-5000 units per day may be needed to increase serum
and tissue antioxidant activity sufficiently to improve health outcomes.
OxyPhyteT antioxidant products can provide additional ORAC units
in a very concentrated form. |
Free Radicals and Antioxidants
It is well known that damage by oxygen free radicals is behind many
of the maladies that come with aging, including cardiovascular disease
and cancer. Diets high in antioxidants have the potential to protect
our cells from this free radical damage.
Free radicals have been implicated in the development of at least 50
diseases. Over the past decade, researchers have demonstrated that free
radicals contribute to the development of atherosclerosis, cell aging
and cancer.
5 to 9 Servings
The amount of antioxidants included in one's diet appears to have a
significant impact on quenching free radicals. Wings OxyPhyteT Antioxidant
is a proprietary blend made from GRAS ingredients selected for their
antioxidant activity and high ORAC value. OxyPhyteT
Antioxidants are wholesome, food-based antioxidants - rather than
a single isolated compound - offering the complete antioxidant
benefits of fruits, vegetables and herbs in a custom formulation that
boasts outstanding ORAC Value.
Scientists are now recommending that consumers (especially adults over
age 40) get 5 - 9 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables per day (or
approximately 4000 - 7000 ORAC units). The average adult diet supplies
about 2000 ORAC units per day. Food values based on the ORAC standard
will allow the consumer to readily understand their own antioxidant
intake based on their current diet and adjust for the difference with
an antioxidant supplement.
Each 450 mg capsule contains 4000 ORAC Units -
the antioxidant equivalent to 5 servings of fruits and vegetables -
and the Plus is that it provides the polyphenol content equal to 1 glass
of red wine.

Green Tea
Green Tea Catechins help destroy harmful intestinal bacteria. In addition,
the numerous benefits for disease prevention and anti-aging are far
reaching and include anti-cancer activity and protection of the cardiovascular
system, the brain and the kidneys. They affect every aspect of our physiology
including cataracts and macular degeneration.
Green Tea has shown to lower LDL cholesterol and serum triglycerides.
In addition, unlike other LDL-lowering agents, green tea also elevates
levels of high-density lipoproteins (HDL), the "good" cholesterol that
helps remove atherosclerotic plaque from arterial walls. Catechins have
been found to outperform Vitamin C, and beta-carotene ten times in scavenging
the alkyl peroxyl radical. One study has shown Green Tea polyphenols
to be more potent antioxidants than Vitamin C, Vitamin E and even curcumin
in some systems.
Rosemary
The natural polyphenols such as carnosic acid found in rosemary are
potent antioxidants and are known to offer significant protection against
DNA damage.
Red Wine Polyphenols
- whole purple grape & seed
extract
Plant polyphenols constitute one of the largest groups of plant nutrients.
They are present in nearly all the plant kingdom where they play an
essential role for growth and reproduction.
Polyphenols are important constituents of red wine and appear to be
directly implicated in the health benefits of wine. Reported to act
as free-radical scavengers and antioxidants, these compounds are also
believed to protect cholesterol in the Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL)
species from oxidation. LDL oxidation (atherogenesis) accounts for many
fatal heart attacks.
The clinical benefits of moderate consumption of wine do not stop at
heart protection. The potential clinical benefits of red wine are associated
with Heart problems, Heart Protection - Digestive Aid - Cancer Prevention
- Age Related Impairment Reduction.
The red wine process is characterized by a long maceration of the total
grape, especially the skin and seeds, which are rich in polyphenols.
Our Red Wine Extracts are produced only by physical means; no solvents
are used in their production.
High Powered Fruits - Apple / Pomegranate /
Elderberry
The major health benefits from fruits and vegetables are due
to their tens of thousands of phytochemicals - naturally occurring biochemicals
that give plants their colour, flavour, smell, and texture. These phytochemicals
may help prevent diseases that are responsible for over 60% of all deaths
annually in the United States. At the molecular level, the preventative
qualities of the compounds are largely due to their antioxidant activity
- their ability to quench free radicals.
OxyPhyteTM Fruit Blend combines
the strength of two powerful fruit extracts - Apple
and Pomegranate. Both fruits have unique combinations of phytochemicals
and exhibit very high antioxidant activity. Preliminary studies suggest
that pomegranate juice may contain almost three times the total antioxidant
ability compared with the same quantity of green tea or red wine. Apples
actually exhibit higher antioxidant activity than oranges, grapefruit,
carrots, spinach, onions and green peppers.
Elderberry stimulates immune system
health. Our Elderberry is a uniquely concentrated extract providing
enhanced levels of anthocyanins, the specialized group of flavonoids
responsible for elderberry's immune system support. Elderberry is a
rich source of flavonoids, particularly quercetin. Studies have shown
that the antioxidant properties of anthocyanins found in elderberry
extract maintain healthy immune function and promote the strength and
integrity of vascular walls.
OxyPhyteTM Fruit Blend and Heart Disease
Pomegranate and apple are particularly good for heart health. Apple
juice contains significant levels of polyphenols (including those from
the peel). Recent studies on human subjects at the University of California,
Davis, demonstrated that apple constituents reduce oxidative susceptibility
of LDL cholesterol in healthy men and women. These results further suggest
that the phenolic compounds present in apples may reduce the risk of
coronary heart disease.
Research has also shown pomegranate juice consumption to have potent
antiatherogenic effects in healthy humans and in atherosclerotic mice.
In addition, pomegranate juice has been shown to inhibit serum angiotensin
converting enzyme (ACE). ACE inhibitors prevent certain enzymes in the
body from constricting blood vessels. This helps to lower blood pressure
and makes the heart beat stronger.
OxyPhyteTM Fruit Blend and Cancer
In addition to high levels of free radical-fighting polyphenols and
other antioxidants, OxyPhyteTM Fruit Blend contains Ellagic acid and
quercetin. Ellagic acid, found in high concentrations in pomegranate,
is known to inhibit certain carcinogen-induced cancers and may have
other chemo preventative properties. Clinical tests conducted at the
Hollings Cancer Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina
(MUSC) show that Ellagic acid may inhibit the growth of cervical cancer
cells and arrest the growth of cancer. Additional research reveals similar
results for breast, colon, and prostate cancer cells. Quercetin, a major
flavonoids compound found in apples, has been reported to decrease the
growth of pancreatic tumor growth, and prostate cancer cells.
